My book 'Adrift' is currently part of an exhibition at The Collection, Lincoln. The show is called 'Silent Witnesses: Graphic Novels Without Words' and runs until August 30th 2010. The exhibition showcases a host of international artists and illustrators who have produced graphic novels without words and includes original artworks, preparation work and books. It's Open Studios fortnight across Cornwall starting next Friday, 29th May. Our studio will be open along with the other Trewidden Artists next weekend (May Bank Holiday) and the following weekend. Please do come along and visit, there will be plenty of drawing, painting, printing and other things to look at and purchase. And you'll benefit from half price entry into the gardens where you can marvel at the Jurassic Pit and have a fine cream tea. Everyone is most welcome...

I am an Illustrator living and working in Penzance, Cornwall. I graduated from Bath School of Art with a BA Hons in Illustration (2004) and I've just gained a Masters with distinction in 'Illustration: Authorial Practice' at University College Falmouth (2009). Now, as well as working on my own projects, I also work freelance as a commercial illustrator.
My self-initiated work is narrative based - I like to explore and tell stories through pictures, often without words or with minimal text. My work is inspired by true stories and real life events, and mainly concerns people- us. I draw from a mixture of reference and my imagination, both in terms of concept and actual imagery, and I like to work from a starting point that leaves room for interpretation, so that the work and the story can become my own. I usually work sequentially, producing short narratives that offer the reader room to navigate his or her own pathway through the unfolding events.
