FRIDAY 11th APRIL 1949 (2010) A short story, a tragedy, inspired by an article found in an old Evening Standard.An unidentified woman is found after a fire in a hotel room. I constructed a story for her basedon the few details that appear in the original newspaper article. 

 

 

CALENDAR FOR ROMANTICS (2011) Images extracted from the 2012 Calendar - which was silkscreen printed and hand-coloured. It's about a couple, who meet in January, and tells their story over the following year. Each month has references to that particular time of year; sometimes to do with nature, sometimes about how that time of year evokes certain feelings; and these references are woven into the couple's story. It's a little whimsical and a lot romantic. 

CONTROL GROUP (2010) Panel drawing inspired by the character Antonia in Cormac McCarthy's novel 'All the Pretty Horses', and some images from National Geographic Magazine about generations of families in one particular area.

ABE'S (2009) Four page graphic short short exploring themes of memory and loneliness. The extract attempts to capture that moment when a trace of sensation or feeling makes real time stop, and you become lost in your memory of time past.
